Songs About Food: A Thanksgiving-Inspired Playlist

Thanksgiving is a time for appreciating others, reminding people that you love them, and most importantly, gaining ten pounds from some of the best home-cooked food you’ve had in months. My dad always told me that no party is complete without the perfect background music. So, this year, I decided to create my own feast-worthy playlist featuring some of my favorites in rock, rhythm, and blues.

Let this playlist guide you through your meal, from last minute preparations in the kitchen with “Stir It Up,” to the bloated post-feast relaxation with The White Stripes’ cover of Bob Dylan’s “One More Cup of Coffee.” Tailor-made for your celebration, these songs flow along as you enjoy vegetables, turkey, pie, and whatever else is on the table. After all, what’s more fun than eating green beans over The Beach Boys’ “Vegetables,” or downing your third (fourth? fifth?) glass of Cabernet to the Stones’ “Pass the Wine”?

Let your tryptophan-induced food coma and wine-drunk buzz roll along with the sounds of Marley, Beck, Dylan, and others this year with this classic rock Thanksgiving playlist in the background.
